Ana María Millan

Born in 1975 in Cali, Colombia
Lives and works in Berlin, Germany

My work locates a personal, girly and acrimonious voice in the narrative spaces of film and video in relation to subcultures and exclusion discourses. I work with amateur culture, its mistakes and possibilities, its violence, with local groups, black holes in history, “the future”, fragments of information, dysfunctional structures, and the tense relationship between the official and the marginal and the feminine and the masculine.
