Karina Skvirsky Aguilera

Lives and woks between Guayaquil, Ecuador and New York, United States

Karina Skvirsky Aguilera is an artist working in photography, video art and performance.  At the core of her methodology is an interrogation of the documentary image and how it functions within media and art. Her work stands in a productive tension within a conceptual art tradition, on the one hand, and formalism and aesthetics, on the other.
