Wallace Masuko
Born in 1979 in Brazil
Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil
Author of a work marked by the simplicity, austerity and economy of its procedures and materials, Mr. Masuko has long been questioning the contemporary hegemony of a culture of images, in which he detects the colapse of meaning and the vanishing of a expressive dimension. Positioning himself in a strategic crisscross of languages – digital media, film, poetry, painting, performance and installation – he draws from his works a beckettian sense of absurd and destitution of humanity, which reveals a unique, dense existential experience in the contemporary art scene.
