Daniel Jacoby

Born in 1985 in Lima, Perú
Lives and works in Asmterdam, Netherlands and Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Daniel Jacoby studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and is currently attending the class of Simon Starling at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. His works set up abstract and fragmented narratives with various media including video, installation, performance, photography and text.

Some of these projects have been carried out during residencies in Luxembourg (Casino Luxembourg), The Netherlands (ARE) and Japan (Tokyo Wonder Site). In other cases, he has received grants from institutions such as Cajasol (Sevilla) and Fundació Guasch Coranty (Barcelona), and awards in contests like Premio José García Jiménez (Murcia), the Premi Miquel Casablancas (Barcelona) and the Premi GAC for the best gallery exhibition in 2011 (Barcelona).

He has also published art books with publishers like Mousse Publishing (Milano), Save As… Publications (Barcelona) and Cru (Barcelona). Additionally, Daniel is co-editor of Texto (http://contienetexto.net), an artist-run project dedicated to artist’s writings in Spanish.
