Cuenca Biennial

Founded in 1987 in Cuenca, Ecuador

In 1987 the International Biennial of Painting was born and since its seventh edition, it changed its name to the Biennial International of Cuenca. From there it was extended to other artistic branches such as installations, videos, digital arts and photographs.

The conceptual axes of XIII edition of the Biennial, Impermanencia, are the denial of the supposed privileged status of the artist, this translates into nomadic works, both in the sense of their physical movement, as in the outsourcing of the physical realization of work.
