Lisa Ladner

Born in 1969 in Zurich, Switzerland
Lives and works in Zurich and San Juan

Lisa Ladner was born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland. Her father is Swiss, her mother Puerto Rican. She holds a certificate of competence for commercial professionals (KV Zurich Business School) and a Master of Advanced Studies in Cultural & Gender Studies (Zurich University of the Arts).
Before turning to independent curating, she worked in advertising, journalism, television and still is a communications expert with a concentration on internet.
She has founded the platform el-status.com, and initiated experimental exhibition formats such as El Pulguero de los Artistas and the Feria de Arte Sonoro (FAS) for which she received the AICA prize for the best interdisciplinary project in 2013. She curated the photographic gallery PL 900 at Casa Aboy, her own concept space Peripher in Zurich and has collaborated in various occasions with the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in St. Croix.
Her latest show, “Colonial Comfort”, opened 2014 in St. Croix, and will travel to the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico in 2015.
She is interested in post-colonial theory, social topics, experimental exhibition formats, and all contemporary art forms.
