Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá (MAMBO)

Bogota’s Museum of Modern Art is a culturally dynamic institution whose mission is to investigate, stimulate, divulge, promote, protect and foster an interest in the various fields of contemporary and modern art in Colombia. The museum is a dynamic space that provides a dialogue between the public and the artwork in a multicultural environment, as well as tolerance and coexistence. It is also in charge of preserving and maintaining its permanent collection as a great part of Colombia’s cultural heritage.
Bogota’s Museum of Modern Art is one of the best known,most revisited, and most appreciated (self-sustainable) cultural entities in the City, for the quality and diversity of its exhibits, the fulfillment of its educational activities, and above all its constant devotion to Colombian society.

The distinguished list of international artists who have exhibited their work at the MAMBO includes: Auguste Rodin, Alexander Calder, Jean Dubuffet, Louise Nevelson, Jesús Rafael Soto, Alberto Giacometti, Richard Smith, Bernard Venet, Niki de Saint Phalle, Paul Klee, Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Wilhelm de Kooning, Francis Bacon, Karel Appel, Julius Bissier, Wifredo Lam, Roberto Matta, Francisco Toledo, Joaquín Sorolla, Rufino Tamayo, Diego Rivera, and Pablo Picasso, among others.
Within the Colombian spectrum we can find the following artists:Andrés de Santamaría, Marco Tobón Mejía, Alejandro Obregón, Edgar Negret, Ignacio Gómez Jaramillo, Enrique Grau, Carlos Rojas, Antonio Barrera, Roberto Páramo, Rafael Echeverri, María de la Paz Jaramillo, Álvaro Barrios, Leo Matiz, Oscar Muñoz, Darío Morales, Carlos Salas, Nadín Ospina, John Castles, Carlos Jacanamijoy, Hernán Díaz, Nelson Vergara, Catalina Mejía, Rodrigo Facundo, Ruven Afanador, David Manzur.
