Museo Experimental El Eco

Fouded in 2005 in Mexico City
Director: Paola Santoscoy

Built in 1953 by this Mathias Goeritz, German artist, poet and architect under the premises of what he called ’emotional architecture’, the space only functioned for a brief period of time in the 1950’s and was recently bought and restored by the National University (UNAM).

Reopen in 2005, the Museo Experimental el Eco is a meeting place for the arts. The museum seeks to offer various contexts for new artistic practices and the development of cultural knowledge. Emphasizing experiment, emotion and interdisciplinary thinking, the space continually takes inspiration from its unique architecture and the diverse conceptual interests of its founder, Mathias Goeritz.
